Argus Home Security Solutions is a locally family owned and operated business, specialising in being a one stop security shop for home security products, including, locks, safes, security doors etc. Recently, Argus added another side to their business called Argus Home Improvements, specialising in awnings, gates, fences etc.
Argus had a website that had been built a number of years ago on a proprietary CMS (a content management system specifically built by a developer, as opposed to open source). Over the years, the site had extra content, pages etc added to it and it had become difficult to navigate, and unappealing compared to other current website designs and layout. Worst of all, it was now unsupported (the developer no longer supported the CMS it was built in) leaving the site vulnerable to breaking, being hacked, not relevant in search results and not updateable (all key areas in making the most of your online sales and marketing tool). This created many potential issues, such as market relevancy, poor search results, poor marketing of new and existing services and products, credibility and being ineffective in attracting new business.
Infinite was contacted by the IT consultancy firm that had originally built and supported the Argus website and asked if we could assist in the development of a new website. Infinite reviewed the existing Argus website, reviewed Argus’s competitors and reviewed other marketing streams that Argus was using. Based on these reviews, the Infinite* team garnered a strong understanding of Argus’s market and industry, and were able to formulate a plan and direction for the new website.
After business analysis meetings with key Argus stakeholders, it was recommended that Argus develop two new websites representing the different areas of business – Security and Home Improvements. Infinite* proposed basing the second site on the same design and architecture but with a different theme, logos etc. This would provide a corporate look and feel whilst reducing development costs. It would also provide stronger search results for the Argus brand.
Argus accepted the Infinite proposal and redirected other marketing funds to the development of these new websites, clearly understanding the benefits of purpose-built Infinite* websites and the power of effective online marketing.
Through focused project management, clever and creative design, functional backend and navigation, including ongoing milestone revisions with the client, Infinite created two very strong sales and marketing websites using the same site architecture but rebranding the theme. With purpose-built SEO (search engine optimisation) and PPC (pay per click) marketing, the strategy propelled the Argus name and branding to achieve high search results and be top of mind for related products and services. These websites are end-user friendly, providing a positive website experience, the required information and creating a ‘call to action’. The Argus sites have also been developed with responsive design, allowing for smart phones and tablet viewing. The back-ends of the websites are update-able in-house by Argus staff, allowing changes to contents including images and new pages with no ongoing consultancy fees.
These new websites are market leaders for quality, credibility, information and the creation of sales opportunities. The Argus team couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome and their choice of website developer.
