Dixon Advisory is one of Australia’s leading financial advisory firms and the fourth largest self-managed super fund provider. The firm was established in 1986 by Daryl Dixon, an expert on tax, superannuation, social security and investments, who saw a significant gap in the market for quality strategic financial advice. Dixon Advisory consists of several divisions including superannuation, investment advisory, financial advisory, property investment advisory, estate planning and legal services, corporate finance and funds management.
Dixon Advisory approached Infinite in May 2012 with the opportunity to build a new Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) portal (myDixon ) for its clients, the existing SMSF Portal was not performing as expected, lacked key features and did not support all the devices utilised by clients. Users were waiting up to 40 seconds for the system to gather their financial results, which were then displayed in a format users found difficult to navigate. In a highly competitive industry Dixon Advisory needed to quickly improve its online services to ensure user satisfaction remained at its highest level.
This project utilised a wide range of Infinite’s services, starting with our extensive web development capabilities, encompassing network and infrastructure consultation to ensure system security and performance was a high priority. Infinite* provided the following services in creating its customised solution for Dixon Advisory:

The project was delivered on time and within budget, Dixon Advisory’s SMSF clients could now view their financial reports at least 40 times faster with results delivered in less than one second. Clients can now access their financial data from any device they choose, whether it be their laptop, mobile phone, tablet or desktop.
myDixon now shows the latest information about clients’ specific investment portfolio, indicating where shares are held and the asset allocation as well as income from investments, most of which is updated daily. The users of the portal were also now able to easily access historical data and select any day in the past to view their portfolio. This means clients have their investment information at their fingertips when they discuss recommendations with their investment advisor and can make decisions in a timely manner and on a considered basis.
Users were also given new capabilities to automatically create personalised PDF document reports for their record-keeping purposes.
The new myDixon portal developed by Infinite* has resulted in dramatic improvement on the services provided by Dixon Advisory to its clients, with releases and enhancements planned well into the future.
In 2013 the Australian Business Awards recognised Dixon Advisory as a recipient of The Australian Business Award for Service Excellence in its industry classification for 2013. The new myDixon Customer Portal was highlighted as a key capability in helping Dixon Advisory receive the award.
