Been with Infinite for a while, great connection and had no issues. Contacted them via email to change my plan for a higher bandwidth with some technical stuff that needed to be done, spoke to Chris and the process could not have been easier. Chris responded quickly and gave me all the details I needed, and when he made the changes they were fast and with minimal internet disruption. He even stayed attentive while we were waiting for Vision to complete their side of the changes so I could test and confirm it was all as it needed to be! Very good customer service yet again from Infinite! Still a very happy customer!

Really happy with the service. The support staff are helpful, patient and responsive. The customer portal on their website is better than other ISPs. It is those little things you didn’t realise you were missing until you have them that really make a difference.

I was trying to host a Minecraft server, discovered Vision/g.fast is behind CGNAT.

Called, talked to Luke. He had me on a static IP in 5 minutes.

How is this different to a normal nbn or Vision connection?

A standard nbn or Vision connection typically provides the internet data service to your home, leaving the management of the internal home network, including Wi-Fi performance and device security, entirely up to you. Our SmartLife platform is a complete, managed experience. It includes the advanced Gigaspire router and our comprehensive VIP Support. This key difference means our team has access to intelligent diagnostics. We can see your network's health, Wi-Fi signal quality, and device connections in real time, allowing us to diagnose and resolve issues far more effectively than with a traditional internet service.

Why is this more expensive, what does it include?

The SmartLife platform is a premium offering because it includes significantly more than just the internet connection. The price incorporates the high-performance Gigaspire system, access to the intuitive SmartHome management app, and the full VIP Support package. This support is the main value, providing proactive monitoring from our team, enhanced network security with ProtectIQ for all your connected devices, and a dedicated escalation path. You are receiving a fully managed hardware, software, and support solution.

How am I protected from Cyber Threats?

Your network is protected by ProtectIQ, which is a key component of the VIP Support package. This is an advanced security service built directly into the Gigaspire system. It actively monitors all internet traffic, automatically blocking malicious websites, viruses, phishing attempts, and other online threats. This protection covers every single device connected to your network, including smart TVs, cameras, and phones, which often cannot run antivirus software themselves.

Can I continue to use the router if I leave Infinite or go back to a standard plan?

The Gigaspire system is provided as part of the managed SmartLife service and is specifically integrated with our network platform to enable the diagnostics, security, and app features. If you choose to move back to a standard plan or cease your service with Infinite Networks, the router's advanced functions will no longer operate and it would need to be returned. The router can be used standalone device without the premium features.

What makes these routers better than what others offer on the market?

The Gigaspire u4.2 routers are powerful, modern devices providing excellent Wi-Fi coverage and performance. However, their main advantage is not just the hardware, but their tight integration with our SmartLife platform. This connection allows us to deliver the VIP Support experience. We can manage security updates, use ProtectIQ to guard your network, and utilise detailed diagnostics to troubleshoot Wi-Fi. A standard router from a retailer is a standalone box, leaving all management, security, and troubleshooting to you. You own your own data and is not shared for advertising and marketing purposes and we do not track or monitor your internet browsing activity or the content of your network traffic.

Who is SmartLife not for?

This platform is a premium, managed solution designed for households that value reliable performance, comprehensive security, expert local support and want the best experience possible from an Internet Service Provider. It may not be the right choice for highly technical "power users" who wish to use their own specific third-party routing hardware or require deep manual configuration of network settings. It is also designed as a quality-focused service, so it may not suit individuals who are seeking only the cheapest possible internet connection.

Can I move between different plans once connected?

Yes, you can adjust your plan. The SmartLife platform acts as the management and support layer for your connection. You can still move between our different SmartLife (for example, from a Connected Home 750/50Mbps plan to a Ultimate Experience 2000/200Mbps plan) to suit your household's data needs, all while retaining the benefits of the managed router and VIP Support.

How many Gigaspire systems do I need?

For many standard homes, the primary Gigaspire u4.2 router will provide sufficient Wi-Fi coverage. The number of units you need depends on the size, layout, and construction materials of your home. Larger properties, multi-storey homes, or homes with dense walls may require additional SmartLife mesh units to create seamless coverage. If in doubt get in contact with us to discuss the size of your house and what would be best.

Can I add more units later if I need better coverage?

Yes, absolutely. The system is designed as a scalable mesh solution. If you find you have areas with a weak signal after the initial setup, we can easily add one or more SmartLife mesh units to your network. These units work together with the main router to expand your Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead spots.

How do I set up the Gigaspire System?

We have designed the setup to be as simple as possible. The router should work out of the box once it is plugged in and connected to your nbn service. For customising your network, such as changing your Wi-Fi name and password or managing connected devices, you can use the intuitive Infinite eXperience app on your smartphone.

What is VIP support?

VIP Support is the comprehensive, premium support service included with all SmartLife plans. It is very different from standard support. It includes a dedicated escalation path for faster resolutions, proactive monitoring where our systems alert us to faults (often before you notice them), and intelligent diagnostics. It also includes the built-in ProtectIQ security to protect your devices and provides a personalised experience from our support team, who can see your network's specific history and status.

What extra support can you help me with?

The intelligent diagnostics of the SmartLife platform allow our support team to help you with issues we previously could not see. We can check your Wi-Fi signal quality in different parts of your home, identify interference from other devices, see which specific device might be causing network slowdowns, and confirm if devices are connected correctly. This allows us to resolve complex Wi-Fi and device issues remotely, often saving you the need for a technician visit.

Can I change my speed inside my smart life plan?

No. The SmartLife plan refers to the management and support features you receive. You can upgrade or downgrade your Smartlife at any time to better match your requirements.

Can I get a static IPv4 address on one of these plans?

Yes, we can provide a static IPv4 address on our SmartLife plans. This is available as an optional monthly add-on, which is often useful for customers who host services at home, use specific remote access, or have complex gaming setups. Connected Home (Dynamic IP) and Ultimate Experience (Static IP) have this included in their respective plans.

Do these plans support IPv6?

Yes, our network is fully native dual-stack, which means both IPv4 and IPv6 are supported and enabled on these plans as a standard feature and the Gigaspire systems have this turned on and configured out of the box.
